Natural Building
Natural building is a style of building that focuses on sustainability, using plentiful local materials to create structures that are aesthetically beautiful as well as durable. TRC Timberworks & Natural Homes is available for custom projects anywhere in Western Canada.
ASK about our natural building workshops! As a home owner, you can reduce labour costs by having our trained professionals teach workshop participants while they are building your dream project.
Many natural materials and building systems are no more expensive than conventional methods and they can lower heating and cooling costs for your building while at the same time improving air quality and the health of occupants.
Minimally-processed or highly renewable resources are combined with an emphasis on passive solar siting and natural ventilation to reduce the environmental impact of a building.
Being based in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, TRC Timberworks & Natural Homes has access to locally-harvested timbers from forests that are sustainably managed. We also work with a select group of professionals to offer our clients a wide range of natural building techniques that use more local materials, such as straw bale building, clay/fibre wall systems, natural plasters, and earthen floors.
We will work with you to navigate the design, engineering, and building permit process. You can contract us for a specific aspect of your project, or we can offer project management and general contracting services.
TRC Timberworks & Natural Homes is fully insured and in good standing with the WCB of British Columbia.
