Natural Clay Plaster Workshop

Dates: July 30 – August 1, 2011 *Completed*

Location: Winlaw, BC

Instructor: Kata Polano

Learn how natural clay plaster can integrate seamlessly with a conventionally framed wall, along with a touch of artistic flair!

We have often had questions about whether natural plasters can be used on buildings that are built using standard framing and plywood sheeting. Yes, they can!

Come and learn how with seasoned plasterer and artist Kata Polano. We will be adding the finishing touches and some sculptural elements to an office that is solar-powered and incorporates passive solar design and super-insulated walls.

Located on a homestead in the beautiful Slocan Valley, you will have the opportunity to learn about the permaculture design principles of this 7 acre farm, and even meet the new little calf just born to their cow, Daisy. Also enjoy the gorgeous mountain setting and go for a refreshing dip in the sparkling Slocan River just a short walk away.

Join us and learn an effective system to adapt clay plaster to a wider variety of applications, including both new and renovation projects!

Investment: $285
